Tynell 9602 Floor Lamp

The 9602 Floor Lamp, also known as “Chinese Hat” was designed by Paavo Tynell in 1935 for the Hotel Aulanko.

The lamp is characterized by a wide shade resembling a traditional Chinese hat, and a slim, rattan-covered stem, contrasted with shiny brass in the base and on top of the lamp shade. The 9602 lamp is a fine example of Tynell’s ability to turn illumination into art and combine different materials seamlessly.
